Olly Murs

Born on May 14, 1984, in Witham, Essex, England, Olly Murs grew up alongside his twin brother Ben Murs and sister Fay Murs. He attended Howbridge Junior School in Witham and later Notley High School in Braintree, Essex.

Interestingly, Murs was more athletic than musical during his high school years, even serving as a striker in his school’s football team. However, an unfortunate injury ended his football career, paving the way for his passion for music.

Murs shares a close bond with his family, including his parents, Peter Murs and Vicky-Lynn Pollard. In terms of relationships, Murs dated model Francesca Thomas from 2012 until 2015. As of 2023, he is married to Amelia Tank.

Murs’ rise to fame began with his participation in the sixth series of the television talent show The X Factor in 2009, where he finished as runner-up. Following the show, Murs released his self-titled debut album in 2010, which entered the UK Albums Chart at number two and was certified double platinum.

His debut single ‘Please Don’t Let Me Go’ topped several international music charts, gaining him worldwide fame.
