Born Jessica Louise Nelson on June 14, 1991, in Romford, East London, Jesy grew up in a working-class family. Her father, John Nelson, is a businessman, and her mother, Janice White, is a police community support officer. Jesy is the second youngest of four siblings—Jade, Jonathan, and Joseph.

Jesy attended Jo Richardson Community School and later pursued her passion for performing arts at Abbs Cross Academy and Arts College. She also trained at the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School, where she honed her skills in drama and music. Despite facing bullying during her school years, Jesy’s determination to succeed never wavered.

Jesy’s personal life has often been in the spotlight. She has been linked to several high-profile relationships, including her engagement to Jake Roche and her romance with Chris Hughes. Currently, she is dating Zion Foster, with whom she recently announced she is expecting twins.
