Reese Witherspoon

Reese spent her early years in Wiesbaden, Germany, where her father, John Draper Witherspoon, served as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army reserves.

The family later moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where Reese’s mother, Betty Witherspoon, worked as a registered nurse. Reese showed an early interest in acting, winning a Ten-State Talent Fair at age 11 and making her screen debut in “The Man in the Moon” at age 14.

Reese has been married twice. Her first marriage was to actor Ryan Phillippe, with whom she has two children. They divorced in 2007.

In 2011, she married Jim Toth, an agent, and they have one child together. The couple divorced in 2023. Reese is known for her close-knit family and her dedication to her children.

Reese’s career took off with her role in “Legally Blonde” (2001), where she played the iconic Elle Woods. The film was a huge success and established Reese as a leading actress in Hollywood.
