Mona Singh

Born on October 8, 1981, in Chandigarh, India, Mona Singh was brought up in an upper-middle-class army family.

Her father, Jasbir Singh, served as a Colonel in the Indian Army. Due to her father’s profession, Mona spent her childhood in different cities across the country. She completed her early schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Nagpur and graduated from St. Mira’s College For Girls in Pune.

Mona Singh is very close to her family. Her father, Jasbir Singh, is a retired Colonel from the Indian Army, and her mother, Rani Singh, is a homemaker.

She also has an elder sister, Sona Singh, who resides in New Zealand.In terms of relationships, Mona Singh has had her share of ups and downs. She was in a relationship with actor and singer Karan Oberoi, but they parted ways in 2009. Later, she was linked with Bollywood actor Vidyut Jamwal.

On December 27, 2019, Mona Singh tied the knot with filmmaker Shyam Rajagopalan in a traditional Sikh ceremony.

Mona Singh’s journey to stardom began with her debut in the iconic television soap opera “Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin” in 2003. Her portrayal of the sincere, intelligent, and naive Jasmeet “Jassi” Walia won the hearts of millions and made her a household name.

She made her film debut with a supporting role in Rajkumar Hirani’s comedy-drama “3 Idiots” in 2009, which is one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. Her performance in the film was highly appreciated and paved the way for more film roles.

Throughout her career, Mona Singh has showcased her talent across multiple genres. She has been a part of several successful TV shows like “Kya Huaa Tera Vaada” and has also hosted reality shows like “Jhalak Dikhla Jaa”.

She has won two Indian Television Academy Awards and has been praised for her roles of Ananya Sharma and Poorva Gupta in “Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain” and “Yeh Meri Family”, respectively.
