Gulshan Devaiah was born on May 28, 1978, in Bengaluru, Karnataka, into a Kodava family. His parents, Sri Devaiah and Pushpalatha Devaiah, worked at Bharat Electronics Ltd. Gulshan completed his schooling at Cluny Convent High School and St. Joseph’s Indian High School in Bengaluru.

He pursued a degree in Fashion Designing from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). Before entering the film industry, Gulshan worked in the fashion industry for a decade and even taught fashion at Wigan & Leigh College in Bengaluru. His creative background laid the foundation for his unique approach to acting.

Gulshan Devaiah was married to Greek actress Kallirroi Tziafeta from 2012 to 2020. Despite their divorce, the two share a cordial relationship and remain close friends. Gulshan has often spoken about his perspective on love and personal growth post-divorce.
