Eleanor Tomlinson

Born on May 19, 1992, in London, England, Eleanor began her acting career at a young age and quickly rose to fame. She moved to Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, England, as a small child, and attended Beverley High School.

She is the daughter of Judith Hibbert, a singer, and Malcolm Tomlinson, an actor and horse racing commentator. Her brother, Ross Tomlinson, is also an actor.

Eleanor is very private about her personal life. However, it is known that she married rugby player Will Owen in July 2022.

Eleanor’s talent and dedication were evident from the start. She made her feature film debut in “The Illusionist” (2006) where she played Young Sophie.

She’s also appeared in teenage films like “Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging” (2008), and blockbusters like “Alice in Wonderland” (2010).

Eleanor’s career showcases a diverse array of roles, from her early appearances in films like “The Illusionist” (2006) and “Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging” (2008) to her later ventures such as playing Princess Isabelle in “Jack the Giant Slayer” (2013) and Demelza Poldark in the BBC series “Poldark” (2015–2019).

She was #56 on the “Radio Times TV 100” list for 2018, a list said to be determined by television executives and broadcasting veterans.

• The decision to dye her hair red for her role on “Poldark” was initially rejected by the show’s creators. However, Eleanor turned up with red hair on the first day of filming.
• Eleanor’s character in “Poldark”, Demelza, had her head turned by another man due to feeling left out by her husband, Ross.
• A controversial rape scene from the “Poldark” novels was axed from the serie.
