Marc Gasol Saez is a Spanish professional basketball player for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association. Gasol was born on 29 January 1985. He is currently 30 years old. He was drafted 48th overall in the 2007 NBA draft and went on to sign with the Grizzlies where he won the NBA defensive player of the year award. He is a two time NBA All Star.
Gasol saw an increased amount of playing time, going from 30.7 minutes per game to 35.8. He used his increased amount of minutes to average 14.6 points with 9.3 rebounds per game. He also recorded a career high field goal percentage at 58.1%, ranking 4th in the league. In the Grizzlies’ season finale on April 15, Gasol scored a then career-high 33 points in a 95-83 win over the Indiana Pacers. The Grizzlies and Gasol reached the semi-finals where they lost to the No. 1 seeded Golden State Warriors. He averaged 18.8 points 11.6 rebounds in the six-game series against the Warriors.
